WHAT WILL I KNOW ABOUT TEACHING SAFE BICYCLING AND WHAT CAN I DO BETTER AFTER TAKING THIS TRAINING? * Know ways children are different from adults as bicycle riders and in learning strategies
* Develop and organize a successful child rider training event in my community
* Learn ways to work with service organizations, schools, community leaders, media and law enforcement to assure safe riding in my community
* Understand state-of-the-art skills of safe bicycle riding and know tips on how to teach hazard avoidance to children
* Experience hands-on hazard identification in bicycle riding areas and know who to work with to eliminate or correct these hazards
* Develop ideas for working with children of differing abilities - developmental, cognitive and emotional
* Carry away all kinds of bike safety materials to use back home - how and why, not just the do's and don't of safe bike riding, including 1994 videotape for parents to view, A Kid's Eye View
